How do appointments work?

In your first appointment, we assess your medical history, lifestyle, stress, sleep, and your individual health goals.

If you want a deeper dive into your health through functional lab testing, we discuss that as well. Then, we come up with a personalized plan, tailored for your specific needs!

Follow-up appointments

After your initial appointment, follow-up sessions provide ongoing support and accountability. During these sessions, we’ll review your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your personalized plan. You have the option of either a 60-minute or 30-minute follow-up appointment, depending on your needs.

At functional nutrition follow-up appointments, we’ll review your test results, develop a tailored plan, and continue to check in to see if we need to make adjustments.

Packages

I offer highly personalized packages, which include frequent check-ins and unlimited messaging with me, to help you achieve your health goals. I also offer these as "add-ons" for people who want to book traditional appointments with insurance, but want more support and accountability between sessions. I accept the following insurance plans: Blue Cross, Aetna, United Healthcare and Medicare*. Prior to your first appointment, we will need to verify your insurance benefits. You can do this yourself or I can help you! For more information, visit my Policies page.

If I am out-of-network with your plan, I can provide you a superbill for you to provide to your insurance company.

Please note that functional lab tests are not typically covered by insurance plans. Functional nutrition initial and follow-up appointments may not be covered or may only be partially covered by insurance.

*Note: for Medicare, I only accept patients with a documented diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.

Cash payment

For people without insurance, for some functional nutrition appointments, or whose plan does not cover nutrition counseling, I accept credit card  payments through Stripe. HSA cards are also accepted and payment plans are available.

Physician Referrals (California residents)

In California, we are required to obtain a referral from your physician before your first appointment. These are simple to obtain. I can either do this for you or you can have your physician send me a referral. My fax number is (949) 848-2499.
